The Duneland Historical Society is dedicated to researching, sharing, and celebrating the history of the people and communities of Northern Porter County, Indiana.
Since 1948, the Society has collected and preserved Duneland history through its public programs, newsletters, the placement of historic markers, and other activities. The Society also contributed to the movement to include the Bailly Homestead and Chellberg Farm in the Indiana Dunes National Lakeshore, and to the establishment of the Westchester Township History Museum, a service of the Westchester Public Library.
The Duneland Historical Society meets the third Thursday of the month February through May and September through November at 7:00 p.m. at the Baugher Center located at 100 W. Indiana Avenue in Chesterton, Indiana. Each meeting is open to the public and free of charge.
