Contact the Westchester Township History Museum during regular business hours at 219.983.9715 for more information.  CANCELLED - Postponed to a later date (TBD).

Thursday, September 21, at 7p.m.
Westchester Township History Museum Curator Serena Ard will present "Duneland Ghost Towns", an interesting and little-known history of some of the first towns conceived in the Duneland area.
Many towns sprouted in the Duneland region in the 1800s. These towns had their own post offices, stores, and places on the map. Some of these towns thrived while others fizzled, lost to time. Other towns changed, developing into neighborhoods with histories of a more prosperous time.
Come learn about the Towns that once were, and see how this lost past helped this area thrive today.

Thursday, October 19, at 7p.m.
This year is the "50th Anniversary of Burns Harbor".
Pauline Poparad will present the history of Burns Harbor. The fall dinner will take place at 6:00 for those who have registered and paid.

Thursday, November 16, at 7p.m.
Joan Costello and Rita Newman will present the next segment in the Local Life series focusing on life in the 1920s. The presentation will look at events such as the Porter train wreck, the beginning of the Chesterton Library, the beginnings of Chesterton China, Ku Klux Klan rallies, the Chesterton bandstand, the first talking pictures in Chesterton, and more.
